In 2020, three École Polytechnique alumni created the BIG Quantum Hackathons. Starting out as a local initiative, to enable the development of quantum use cases for industry - through hackathons - by bringing together quantum experts, industrialists, étudiants et experts du monde des affaires, ces compétitions, se déroulent sous l'égide de l'association QuantX connaissent aujourd'hui un rayonnement à l'international.
Quantum computing still has a long way to go before it becomes an integral part of corporate strategy. Subject to what is known as the "quantum advantage", its adoption is confronted with the identification of use cases. To enable the rapid development of practical applications at an early stage of the technology, it is in the interest of all players to federate within an ecosystem.
