The "73" celebrated its birthday

On December 6, starting at 7:00 p.m., some twenty of us (including our wives) got together to enjoy the wonderful dinner prepared for us by Juan the Chef/owner of the Autana restaurant (Juan Martinez Marcano) in the 17th arrondissement of Paris (8 rue de Logelbach).

It was an emotional reunion, fifty years after we left the "rue Barrault", as everyone called the school. Here, where's your flowery beard, where's your hair, etc.? But we managed to recognize each other and talk as if we'd parted the day before.

A large number, unfortunately, were unable to make the trip to Paris (some of us preferred to live in the provinces or even abroad (e.g. Claude (Benchimol) lives in the USA, Lim (Savannet) in Luxembourg spends the winter in warmer, sunnier latitudes).

After the mise en bouche, we tasted the Margarita appetizer (a scallop carpaccio, pomegranate slivers, a hint of guasacaca and a coriander-scented citrus reduction), followed by the main course, by an asado negro (a lightly caramelized piece of beef on a melting bed of vegetables of the moment, with a truffle emulsion) to conclude with a chuao (a crunchy piece of Venezuelan grand cru chocolate, vanilla cream and a hint of coconut), all washed down with wines in perfect, subtle harmony with these dishes.

Delighted by our reunion and delighted by the restaurant, we all talked about the idea of getting together again in ten years' time (our last meeting was in 2013!) for another festive event, perhaps including a visit to the École and/or the incubator (partly located at Station F).
