Democracy and digital, exchanges with generative AIs

In the2023 baccalaureate in philosophy, for the question "Is happiness a matter of reason? "ChatGPT got 11/20 and philosopher Raphaël Enthoven 20/20. But we mustn't give up, and the subject of our dossier deserved to give a voice to the generative AIs available.


We started from the same brief we gave to our human authors. The detailed exchanges are available on the magazine's website; here we offer a short summary and try to draw some thoughts from it. We have exchanged with Google's Gemini and Microsoft's Copilot. Let's put it bluntly: it's impossible to get Gemini out of trivialities using simple prompts. Still, we're glad to learn that mass surveillance is less intrusive in France than in the USA and China! More elaborate prompts would perhaps have...
