TELECOMS FOR THE 2024 GAMES

Organised by "Networks & Services"

[Can't find the webinar link, log in and find it on the event page!]

Paris will host the 33rd Olympic Games from July 26 to August 11, 2024. It's going to be the biggest event ever held in France: 329 events in 32 different sports, a unique opening ceremony on the Seine, ...! And we're predicting: 13 million tickets sold, 4 billion spectators...
The events will take place in a wide range of venues: in Paris and Ile-de-France, of course, but also in many provincial towns and even in Tahiti!
And the event continues, from August 28 to September 8, with the Paralympic Games, hosted for the first time in France.

The organization of these Games is therefore highly complex, with major projects to be carried out in many sectors: sports facilities, housing, transport, etc.

The aim of our webinar is to take stock of the systems to be implemented in the telecoms networks and services sector, in order to meet a multiplicity of objectives: of course, to meet the needs of the many visitors expected to attend, but also to provide services for journalists and media commentators covering the games, to broadcast all the events at both national and international level, and to ensure the smooth running of the Games. All these projects are made particularly complex by the multiplicity of sites and the simultaneous nature of the events. All this has to be ensured with reliability, availability and security targets close to 100%.

To present the challenges of these projects, we call on two experts in charge, at the highest level, of their implementation:

  • Pascal WATTIAUX (1983), Advisor to the Technology Department of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organizing Committee.

  • Pierre-Louis DE GUILLEBON (1990), CEO of Orange Events and Director of the JO 2024 Project at Orange, which is in charge of all telecoms for the Games.

Following their presentations, a round-table discussion will be held, where they will be joined by :

  • Gilles SILARD, Deputy Director of Sports Production, France TV,
, who will focus on the specific needs of the media.

  • Jérémy COUTURE, Head of Security Operations Center (SOC), COJO Paris 2024, and
  • Eric GREFFIER, Director of Technology Partnership P2024 at CISCO
who will focus on security issues (networks, software, cybersecurity, etc.).

This round table will focus on the specific needs of the media and security issues (networks, software, cybersecurity, etc.). It will also provide an opportunity to answer questions posed online by participants.

Carole Bolopion (2000), assisted by Michel Levy (1975) and Xavier Maitre (1976), will host this webinar offered by the Réseaux & Services group.

Participation in this webinar is free and open to all interested parties, but prior registration is required to obtain the webinar link, which will be sent out the same day.
