[Télécom ParisTalks] Technologies and access to the healthcare system

17th conference in the Télécom ParisTalks cycle co-organized by
Télécom ParisTech alumni
and Télécom Evolution

How and under what conditions can technology help
our fellow citizens' access to the healthcare system

The January 2016 law emphasized the need to improve the coordination of healthcare pathways. Technologies will play a major role in this improvement. But people still need access to the healthcare system. And will this access be equitable for all people throughout the country? Are new medical techniques accessible to all under the same conditions?

The ANI law of June 2013 has required companies to offer supplementary health insurance to employees since January 2016. To differentiate themselves, insurers have developed new services. At our meeting on September 28, 2016, Axa presented its teleconsultation offer by telephone. This differs from the teleconsultation covered by the CNAMTS since the end of 2018, which requires videoconferencing and therefore broadband access. Doesn't this constitute technological discrimination in access to the healthcare system for unsalaried people living in white zones?

These and many other themes will feed into the conference debates.
