Technology and the environment: how to develop a more responsible digital future?

Organised by "Digital & Environment"

Conference co-organized by the Digital & Environment Group of Télécom Paris alumni, the ESSEC Digital Club, ESSEC Transition Alumni and G9+.

Digital technology already accounts for over 4% of greenhouse gas emissions, more than civil aviation. Between 40 and 50 billion kg of electronic equipment are put on the market every year. As for waste, in France only 14% is recycled, and worldwide ¾ ends up in illegal processing channels.

Far from the promises of "dematerialization in the cloud", digital technology is generating a massive and growing ecological cost. At the same time, it also makes a major contribution to the ecological transition (reduced use of transport, access to soft mobility, smart cities, smart grids, etc.).

Sobriété numérique, High Tech, Low Tech, IT for green, what are the possible futures?

At a time when a new regulatory framework is being put in place, what are our responsibilities as digital players?

A round-table discussion with our experts and speakers, to answer all your questions!

We'll be delighted to welcome a number of exceptional speakers:
