Connected objects: Gadgets or essential technology for excellence in 4P medicine?
6th conference in the Télécom ParisTalks cycle
The Télécom ParisTech Health Group is celebrating its second anniversary by organizing this second conference as part of Télécom ParisTalks. These conferences complement the group's regular work with thematic meetings.
Two years ago, we carried out a review of connected healthcare devices. We concluded that the benefits offered by connected objects are twofold: better living with or without pathologies, and substantial medium-term savings for the healthcare system. These savings will be effective provided the system knows how to adapt to the innovations generated by e-health in the broadest sense of the term.
Today, the market for objects is growing rapidly abroad. Withings has been acquired by Nokia, and Big Data makes it possible to process the vast quantities of data generated by these objects. The advantages of this technology have been demonstrated by studies financed by ARS.
For the past year, we have been reflecting on the evolution of medicine towards 4P medicine (Preventive, Participative, Personalized and Predictive) and the consequences this will have for insurance and healthcare pathways.
Presentations will provide an overview of recent regulatory and standards developments. Testimonials from industry leaders will highlight technological advances and project us into the future. Finally, concrete case studies will enable us to assess the progress made in health management thanks to connected health devices.
