Attention RGPD, the home stretch ....

10th conference in the Télécom ParisTalks co-organized by
Télécom ParisTech alumni and Télécom Evolution

On May 25, 2018, the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD; GDPR in English) will come into force.

By reinforcing numerous pre-existing measures and introducing potentially considerable fines, it comes at a time when consumers' and citizens' personal data is becoming a key economic and political issue.

All economic players have had 2 years to align themselves with the new measures. The media and social networks have been inundated all year with an impressive number of articles and publications on the subject. But beyond this deluge of information, how should companies approach the final stretch to May 25?

  • What if you're just getting to grips with the problem?
  • Or if your compliance project is making no headway?
  • What absolutely must be in place by May 25?
  • What can you expect from May 26 onwards?
  • And beyond that, how can you maintain compliance, and what changes can you expect?
On the outlook side, new responsibilities are being imposed on companies, notably embodied alongside the CISO by the Data Protection Officer (DPO), who must invent a new profession and find his or her place in the organization. If you're interested in this career prospect, come and join us for a round-table discussion.

The evening will be led by Laura Peytavin (1990), CISSP consultant at Proofpoint, who will give a brief introduction, and Jean-Christophe Gaillard (1991 ), managing director of Corix Partners and co-chairman of the Cybersecurity Group, who will lead the round table discussion.

The round table will bring together :

  • Claire Levallois-Barth: Coordinator of the Values and Politics of Personal Information Chair at Institut Mines-Télécom and Senior Lecturer in Law at Télécom ParisTech

    • Garance Matthias - Attorney-at-law - Cabinet Mathias Avocats

  • David Hozé (2000) - Director at Wise Partners

  • Amandine Kashani-Poor - Correspondant lnformatique et Libertés de I'Agence Française de Développement
