MULTIMODALITY AND TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT - WHEN TECHNOLOGY MEETS ART
Editorial
The disruption to mobility patterns brought about by the recent health pandemic, economic crises and the energy transition, is leading to exponential growth in the number of planes, trains, cars, boats, bicycles, scooters, monowheels, drones and more. In so doing, we are all helplessly witnessing the growing inadequacy of the associated infrastructure: streets, bike paths, parking lots, roads, freeways, stations, railroads, ports, shipping lanes, airfields, flight paths, etc.
Traffic Management, the backbone of all transport systems, is the only way to ensure that traffic is constantly and safely adapted to infrastructure capacity. The following dossier describes the various traffic management systems available for each mode of transport.
Our artistic habits and creativity are not immune to the upheavals brought about by digital technologies. The dossier "When technology meets art" tackles the subject from two angles:
- digital technology as a means of disseminating art, i.e. the contributions of digital technology in terms of cultural mediation, as a means of bringing the arts closer to the public,
- digital as an artistic medium, addressing the use of technology in the creative process and the way artists use digital technology.
