Editorial
The Télécom Paris alumni association is devoting an issue of its magazine to 5G. This is a very topical subject: 5G only got underway in France last November, against a backdrop of controversy to which this issue will offer some answers. And that's fortunate, because our country is not ahead of the game. Asia has overtaken Europe in terms of both technology and deployment. South Korea is the world's No. 1, while China has the world's largest commercial 5G network. Still a leader in telecoms technologies at the turn of the century, with major players, the European Union, which is losing ground, is now on the defensive. This is evidenced by the texts passed or promulgated in several countries and the recommendations of the European Commission to secure networks and preserve our sovereignty.
