Because culture is a "hard drug", as Léa Salamé likes to say in her cultural program "Stupéfiant!", we thought it would be a good idea to set up an Art & Culture club. Indeed, whatever our field of activity, culture provides a link between our actions and enriches our thinking. With a degree from the Ecole du Louvre and a Masters from Telecom Paris, I've always enjoyed sharing my taste and knowledge of art. Along the way, I met Agnès Brigot, also a graduate of the Ecole du Louvre and the Essec business school. Together, we'll be offering a varied program, with top-notch speakers: historians, heritage or museum curators, academics, architects, archaeologists, curators, gallery owners who love to share their knowledge and passion.
We'll be kicking off our first 2018-2019 season around the theme of Heritage, as 2018 is "European Heritage Year". This is an opportunity to revisit the major debates on safeguarding and restoring heritage, but also to question the emergence of a heritage consciousness as well as approaches to preserving "national treasures". The Club will hold one conference a month, on Monday evenings, plus occasional visits in line with current events.
Join the Art & Culture Club and share with us your taste for the finer things in life - exciting times await you! Christine CHARDON (95), President of Club Art&Culture
