CREATION OF DEFENSE THEMATIC GROUP (NOV 2007) It gives me great pleasure to announce the creation of the DEFENSE Thematic Group. With your participation, this new group aims to encourage exchanges between the various players in the defense sector: manufacturers, armed forces, the French defense procurement agency (Délégation Générale pour l'Armement) and political leaders. It should enable all players to gain a better understanding of each other's constraints and expectations, so that we can better conduct our professional activities to the benefit of the sector as a whole. A "Defense" group in the broadest sense of the term, this new group will also integrate Aeronautics, Space and Security, due to the civil/military duality of these activities. This group will take the form of regular conferences led by representatives of the various players in the sector. Over the course of time, we plan to address all subjects, without exclusion: military doctrine, industrial policies, technological developments, major program presentations, arms contract management methods, etc. We'll also be exchanging information on our business sector, and visiting emblematic sites and equipment. Our inaugural conference took place on November 12, 2007 at the Palais du Luxembourg, in the presence of Patrick AUROY, Deputy Strategy Director to the Délégué Général pour l'Armement, who spoke on the following theme: "Building the Europe of armaments: a necessity, a challenge".
