The fruit of a spectacular turnaround driven by Patrick Kron in 2003, and of considerable effort, ALSTOM is today one of the world's leading companies in rail transport infrastructure, power generation and transmission.Today, ALSTOM is one of the world's leading players in rail transport infrastructure and power generation and transmission, with a presence in around 100 countries, 92,600 employees and sales of €20 billion in 2012.
A former student of the Ecole Polytechnique and a Corps des Mines engineer, Patrick Kron has just celebrated 10 years as Chairman of ALSTOM. He will be joining us to discuss the challenges facing Alstom today, in particular competition from emerging countries, which account for over 50% of the Group's order book.
He will of course be talking about gender issues in a Group committed to equal career opportunities and active in promoting women in science and engineering, but which still has no women on its executive board.
The GEF team will be delighted to welcome you at 8:00 a.m. for a buffet breakfast.
