FREDERICK ASHTON BALLET DE L'OPÉRA BALLET EN DEUX ACTES D'APRÈS JEAN DAUBERVAL The oldest known action ballet in the French repertoire, La Fille mal gardée is also the first modern ballet. Created just a few days before the French Revolution, its success was immediate. The work is presented in the virtuoso version, full of humor, tenderness and gaiety, imagined by the British composer Frederick Ashton in 1960.
