Blockchains in real life: from development to next achievements

9th conference in the Télécom ParisTalks co-organized by
Télécom ParisTech alumni and Télécom Evolution

Blockchain technology is gradually emancipating itself from the flagship use initially represented by cryptocurrencies (bitcoin, etc.).

From energy to investment banking and the automotive industry, other sectors are currently developing and experimenting with innovative uses, focusing on different functionalities to promote data confidentiality or transparency, or to track, certify, secure, share and more. This variety of potential uses and functionalities testifies to the still poorly understood potential of this technology.

This conference will highlight a number of pilot projects, to gain a better understanding of the prospects for their application in the near future, the markets they target, the obstacles they face, and the possible horizons for making them available to the public.

Several questions will emerge, including:

  • Will the emerging landscape be one of a few major markets deploying this generic technology, or of numerous niches dedicated to specific uses, each with its own bespoke configuration needs?
  • What technological building blocks will be key to the development or mastery of these markets in the future?
  • Has the French ecosystem been able to respond to these opportunities, and differentiate itself from the experiments launched in parallel in the main competitor countries?

Speakers will debate and answer questions from the audience on current initiatives and the upheavals they are likely to bring.
