Defense Group<br />CHINA and Armaments: the (Middle) Empire strikes back

Conference on China's defense industry, by Patrick Michon (71), Auditor Chear 31, followed by a round-table discussion with various experts from the region and/or the sector Synopsis: Over the past 50 years, China has made exceptional progress in all fields. Today, the country has a defense industrial base that needs to be taken seriously. By 2020, decision-makers want the country to be self-sufficient in every respect, from the design to the commissioning of armaments. The desire to penetrate export markets is an economic and political weapon against Third World countries. We can shudder at the thought, react and anticipate through partnerships to share markets, sales and margins. However, China and its industry are not invincible... About Patrick Michon: Deputy Export Director at SAGEM Défense & Sécurité until June 2010, P. MICHON has been involved for many years in teaching at the Sessions Nationales du CHEAR (now IHEDN Armement et économie de Défense) as a Study Adviser and Lecturer. These lectures focus on the defense industry, analyzing the following topics: Geopolitics, threats to territorial integrity, Forces equipment, capabilities of local industries to supply equipment, etc...). * DGA/DDI: Direction Générale de l'Armement, Direction du Développement International * IRIS: Institut de Relations Internationales et Stratégiques
