Defense Group<br />Iran, Turkey, The race for leadership in the Middle East, the military and industrial means to achieve these ambitions.

A civil war has been tearing Syria apart for the past 2 years. Behind these fratricidal clashes, which pit religious factions driven by centuries-old hatred against each other, lie 'foreign sponsors'. Certainly, foreign intervention in the conflict is the subject of press articles and political statements. But there is also opposition between 2 powers aspiring to the role of regional leader, namely Iran and Turkey. Such a role requires military power and, to back up this desire for power, a national industry responsible for equipping these forces (hard power) independently, and for positioning itself on the export market with regard to client countries (soft power). Our speaker Patrick MICHON will present the defense industries of Turkey and Iran, their announced capacities, their real capacities and their ambitions, placing these elements in the context of the antagonism of these 2 countries.
