Groupe Audiovisuel<br />High Definition: revolution or transition? - chronicling the launch of a new television service

An interesting example of the introduction of a new technology designed to regenerate a saturated market: HDTV is an old idea, born in Japan in the late 70s, and built on a simple objective: to improve the quality of the image received by the viewer. In France, it was launched in late 2008 as a free HDTV service... some 30 years later, and the scenario has nothing to do with those predicted by marketing or technical experts! Francis Héricourt, who played an active part in this adventure on both the industrial and broadcasting sides, invites you to analyze this adventure together, with its false trails, its fundamentalisms, and ...in fine, its viewers!
