Audiovisual group<br />What does the future hold for Digital Terrestrial Radio?

Groupe Audiovisuel invites you to its conference/debateWhat future for Digital Terrestrial Radio?
on the eve of its commercial launch on June 20
After many ups and downs, Digital Terrestrial Radio (DTR) will be officially launched in the Paris (58 radios), Marseille (36 radios) and Nice (36 radios) areas on June 20, 2014. On the eve of this launch, what are the advantages and pitfalls of this technology? What needs can it meet? What are the expectations of public authorities, radio publishers and manufacturers? Groupe Audiovisuel invites you to join us for a roundtable discussion with four specialists and players in this change:
  • Jacques Donat-Bouillud, a graduate of Télécom Paris (87) and Ecole Polytechnique alumnus. He was Managing Director of Visual TV (now AMP Visual). He is currently Director of Innovation and Technologies for the NEXTRADIOTV group (BFM TV, BFM Business TV, RMC Découverte TV, RMC and BFM Business Radio).
  • Jean-Michel Kandin was successively General Secretary of Radio Nostalgie, Deputy General Secretary of NRJ Group and Managing Director of its subsidiary TowerCast, Director of Technical Services and Deputy Director in charge of Institutional Relations for Lagardère Active's audiovisual division. He joined the CSA in 2007 to organize the rollout of the DTT network, and was appointed Deputy Technical Director in 2010, in charge of the Digital Switchover project. He is currently Director of Technologies at the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel (CSA).
  • Philippe Levrier , a graduate of Télécom Paris (73) and Ecole Polytechnique, has spent his entire career in the audiovisual communications sector. After holding several management positions at TDF, he became Managing Director in 1989. In 1995, he was appointed Chairman and CEO of TVRS 98, the radio and television company responsible for audiovisual coverage of the World Cup soccer tournament in France. He was appointed Managing Director of France 3 in 1997, then member of the Conseil Supérieur de l'Audiovisuel from 2001 to 2007. From May 2007 to December 2009, he chaired France Télé Numérique, a public interest group created by the French government and television channels to ensure the transition to digital terrestrial television in France, and is currently Chairman of SEPN, a digital radio project. He also authored the first government report on digital terrestrial television broadcasting (1996), and in 2000 founded the digital broadcasting company 3Wave, which later became Antalis-TV.
